The Irony of Mocking Christ

What if the people mocking Jesus were actually proving who He was? In Mark 15, soldiers dressed Jesus like a king, placed a crown on His head, and mocked Him. Religious leaders challenged Him to come down from the cross and save Himself. They thought His death proved He was not the Messiah. But they were wrong. Jesus really was the King of Kings, and He was fulfilling God’s plan to save us. The irony is that Jesus could have saved Himself, but He chose to stay on the cross for us. While His enemies mocked Him, He showed love even to those who hated Him. Sometimes God’s ways don’t make sense to us. Instead of assuming we know better, we can ask Him to teach us His ways. And just as Jesus loved His enemies, we are called to do the same.
