CloseWho are you really following? In the sermon "Preachers With Bad Motives," we look at Mark 12:38–13:2 and hear Jesus give a clear warning: watch out for religious leaders who care more about attention, money, and status than they do about God. Jesus describes leaders who want to be seen and honored. They look spiritual on the outside, but inside they take advantage of people and chase their own gain. God sees this, and He will deal with it. Then we see a poor widow give everything she has. While others give out of wealth, she gives out of faith. Jesus shows the difference between real devotion and fake religion. This message challenges us to be careful. Not every leader can be trusted. We need to ask: Are they teaching the Bible? Does their life match what they say? Who are they really pointing to? But we also can’t walk away from Jesus because of bad leaders. God is still good and still worth following. Are you chasing faithfulness—or something else?
