Baptism represents dying to our old way of life. There is an old saying “We’ll know where we’re going when we get there.” The type of truth we follow is vitally important. There are two different types of truth: Coherent Truth: A belief system that coheres, or fits together and Correspondent Truth: A belief system that corresponds to how things really are. We find ultimate truth in Christ, and we can find fulfillment there. The “fullness” of the Deity in Christ is the Greek word “pleroma.” It literally means: “completion” or “fullness.” The fullness we have been given in Christ is the Greek word “pleroo.” It literally means “satisfy.” Our hearts are permanently changed when Jesus fills us, so we should and can live like it. Immersion in Christ demands that we bury our old selves before we experience God’s fulfillment.
